Scary Week For Me

Hello All,
As some of you know this past week was a very scary one for me and my family. My husband had a mild heart attack on Sunday, then had to have a heart catheterization done on Monday with a stint placed into one of the arteries in his heart for an 85% blockage.

One reason I am sharing this with all of you to remind everyone how important it is to maintain a healthy weight and eat a healthy diet. I know that is very easy to say, and much harder to do, but let me tell you... IT IS VERY SCARY to watch someone you love go through what my husband did this past week and wonder if he will make it through or if I will be planning his funeral. Thank God and the great doctors that he is doing great and will have a great recovery and hopefully a long life with us.

The other reason is to let you all know that if Glenn and I can change our eating habits then anyone can do it. We are both "old" and set in our ways (at 43 and 49) and we have already started changes for the better for our whole family. Glenn has already lost 10 lbs just by walking and eating better.

Next week will be I will be sharing some great low calorie, heart friendly recipes for everyone.

We are Ready to Lose!!!

We are ready to go, did you all get weighed in last Friday. I am hoping this will get off to a good start Spring is FINALLY here. I am looking to see if anyone wants to add to the low fat and calorie recipes I am going to be posting. If you do just put them up. I can't wait to see what types of recipes you come up with that I can try.

Keep working at it, this is a hard struggle, but you can do it, a pound or 2 a week is a great start.
